Steve Mattison

Born in 1954. From 1984 to 1986 he studied ceramics with related studies in glass and printmaking at the NEWI College of Arts, Clwyd (B/TEC HND). Since 1985 he has participated in numerous exhibitions and symposiums in Czech Republik, Denmark, Hungary, Japan, Latvia, UK, USA. Since 1984 he has been a member of North Wales Potters Association (chairperson from 1999 to 2002), and a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) since 2005. In 1987 he helped to found the International Ceramics Festival held every two years in Wales and from 1991 to 2004 was its co-ordinator and director. For over 20 years he has been a part time and visiting lecturer at many universities and colleges and since 2002 he has been a visiting lecturer at Topferschule Gordola, Switzerland. His works are included in the collections of Australian, European and the USA art museums and galleries. The artist works at his studio, also designs for theatre, internet and multimedia.
