Renate Hahn

Born in 1946. Renate studied germanic and romanic philology from 1968 to 1972 at the Geneva, Hamburg, Cologne universities. From 1980 to 1982 she worked at the Ceramics studio of Inke and Uwe Lerch, and was an resident student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kiel, Germany. From 1998 to 1999 she studied ceramics in the Seika University, Japan under prof. Kawasaki. Since 1988 Renate has participated in exhibitions and symposiums in Australia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Finland, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the USA. She has published a number of articles and reviews on ceramic art. The artist has won numerous prestigious awards such as Honorable Mention in Mino, Japan (1989), Honorary Degree at the III World Triennial Exhibition of Small Ceramics in Zagreb, Croatia (1990); Silver Medal in Faenza, Italy (1995).
Renate was a participant of the symposium in 1996.
