Born in 1956. Itsue graduated from the Osaka University of Fine Arts (BFA: 1979), from the Minnesota State University, Mankato, USA (MA:1981), and from the Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, USA (MFA: 1983). Since 1981 she has participated in numerous exhibitions and symposiums in Argentina, France, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Latvia, the Netherlands, and the USA. The artist has arranged a number of solo exhibitions. She has created numerous ceramic sculpture pieces for interior and exterior as commissioned by the public institutions (mainly in Japan). Itsue has published a number of articles and reviews on ceramic art. In 1988 she established a studio in Miyazaki where she makes slab and coil-built sculpture.
