Gloria Carrasco

Born in 1951. Gloria graduated from the University of Puebla (BA: Architecture, 1972) and from the National University of Mexico /Department of Architecture (MA: Urban Design, 1979), in 1996 she graduated from the School of Crafts and Design of the National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico where she studied ceramics. Since 1994 she has participated in numerous exhibitions and symposiums in Argentina, China, France, Korea, Latvia, Mexico, the Netherlands, the USA. The artist has arranged a number of solo exhibitions (mainly in Mexico). Since 2007 she has been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC). Since 2011 she has been a member of the Jury of the Utilitarian Ceramic Biennial organised by the F. Mayer Museum in Mexico. Her works are included in the collections of the art museums of China, France, Mexico, and the USA. She is a studio artist, also since 1996 she has worked as a consultant and designer at the Talavera de la Luz factory in Puebla.
The artist was a participant of the symposium in 2012.
