Born in 1958. In 1981 she graduated from the Massana Art School in Barcelona where she studied ceramics. From 1987 to 2001 she studied sculpture, ceramics and audio-visual techniques in various schools in Spain. She graduated from the University of Barcelona (BA: Art History, 1988; PhD: Aesthetics, 1990). She has participated in numerous exhibitions and symposiums in Andorra, France, Latvia, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Turkey, and the USA since 1989. The artist has arranged several solo exhibitions. She has published a number of articles and reviews on ceramic art internationally. Since 1986 she has been a member of the Catalonian Ceramics Association and since 1991 a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), also she has been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) since 2013. Carme has won some notable awards such as the 3rd Prize in sculpture of the Collectiva Social of Cercle Artistic de Sant Lluc (2001). Her works are included in the collections of art museums in Latvia, Spain, and the USA. Currently she teaches ceramics at the University of Barcelona also she is doing research in history of ceramics. Carme works as a studio artist in the fields of ceramics, sculpture, photography, installation.
